EXPERTS AT LASER ENGRAVING
LASER ENGRAVING
The laser engraving is a process fully controlled by computer, where the laser beam physically removes the surface of the material to expose desired design. At Dot Laser it can be done on a various materials such as wood, plastic, leather, glass, coated metal, anodised aluminium and many more. This is the most common option for people who want something personalised or customised - from simple initials, names etc to creative fine art design.
We can accommodate into our laser items with max 305mm height.
There are two ways of laser engraving: vector engraving and raster engraving. With vector engraving technique, laser beam follows the line or path created in graphics software. The raster engraving allows working on 'filled' graphics and pictures.
Sometimes to get the right and cost effective result its good to combine both methods at once.

Stone engraving can produce some fantastic results, whether its a piece of slate, marble, limestone or another natural stone material.
Do always bare in mind that all stone engraves differently under a laser. While most light stone will produce a very subtle effect from laser engraving, slate and some other dark stones on the other hand, will produce a beautiful highly contrasted light grey engrave effect.
If you after a beautiful frosted effect on glass then laser etching is for you.
This application can be great for branding glassware for your business or restaurant or simply a promotional item.
At Dot Laser we offer compound engraving, this is where we spray on a thin layer of reactive chemicals which is permanently fixed to the surface once the laser comes into contact with the metal. The compound leaves behind a black mark which is more visible.
We always recommend testing your material first to know what kinds of results you are going to get as every material can react differently.
